Hibernia Networks is to provide Ethernet connectivity for eBay between Atlanta in the US and Dublin in Ireland.
The world's largest online marketplace will leverage Hibernia's network of over 200 PoPs extending into 300,000 lit buildings in North America, Europe and Asia.
The expanded capacity is said to enable eBay to meet the increased demand for high-speed communications services in Ireland.
"Hibernia engineers its diverse metro, long-haul, subsea and terrestrial networks to provide the most reliable network infrastructure for clients, " said Eric Gutshall, SVP and head of global sales at Hibernia Networks. "Our Irish terrestrial network and direct connectivity to North America and Europe enable eBay to deliver 100% uptime to their worldwide customer base."
