BICS has launched a range of IP over Satellite (IPoSat) services designed to enhance connectivity for landlocked countries and act as a back-up for fibre and subsea networks.

The operator's SatFlex and MultiFlex services are said to deliver connectivity to challenging geographical and environmental conditions, where networks have a high possibility of experiencing outages. The services leverage both stable and inclined orbit satellites, claiming to offer customers' data speeds of hundreds of Mbps. The move will in particular support BICS' operations in Africa, where it hopes to support traditional capacity solutions in providing better quality services to landlocked markets.
